About

The Higher Education Commission is an independent body made up of 20 leaders from the education sector, the business community and the three major political parties.

Established in response to demand from Parliamentarians for a more informed and reflective discourse on higher education issues, the Commission examines higher education policy, holds evidence-based inquiries, and produces written reports with recommendations for policymakers.

The Commission is chaired by Lord Alec Broers, former Vice Chancellor of the University of Cambridge and is generously supported by the Sutton Trust.
